Conceived as a central focus for the Jewish population in North Toronto, the Sherman Campus will provide a central facility to support ongoing activities for the community. Working with IBI/Page and Steele and in collaboration with the Jewish Federation of Toronto, Terraplan has been working closely to develop a plan that encompasses the various stakeholder's agendas including a summer camp, an urban agriculture program, the placement of an extensive outdoor art collection and several existing buildings and their associated landscape. We have been working with the project team to define the vehicular and pedestrian networks to ensure they are compatible and sustainable. As this site is located partially within the TRCA flood plain, special consideration has been given to the placement of design elements including built forms and pathways. Construction for this project is scheduled for 2017.
